Nominations for the 2024 British Kebab Awards Open
The nominations for the 2024 British Kebab Awards are now open, inviting entries from kebab restaurants and takeaways across the UK. These annual awards are a celebration of the diversity and quality of the UK’s kebab industry, recognizing the hard work and dedication of those who make it. The event, now in its 12th year, is considered a staple event in the culinary calendar.
Nominations for the British Kebab Awards can be made at https://voting.britishkebabawards.co.uk/ by any member of the public.
If you have a favourite kebab restaurant or takeaway, now is the time to show your support and nominate them for the British Kebab Awards.
The finalists will be competing for 20 prestigious awards, including Best Kebab Van and Best Vegan Kebab. The categories also include eight awards for the best kebab restaurants across the UK.
The awards are run in association with JUST EAT and supported by the Kebab Alliance, the trade body for the sector. They recognise and champion the efforts of local kebab takeaways and restaurants across the UK.
The founder of the British Kebab Awards, Ibrahim Dogus, said that this year’s awards are set to be the biggest and best yet. He added, “We’ve seen incredible growth in the industry over the past few years, and we’re excited to celebrate the best of the best in 2024.”
The kebab industry has become an essential part of our daily lives, enjoying a revolution as part of a sit-down meal with family and friends, as a quick healthy lunch, or delicious takeaway on the way home from work. The industry is now estimated to be worth over £2.8bn to the British economy, with more than 1.3m kebabs sold across Britain every day.

- The kebab industry is one of the most inclusive food sectors in the UK, with many employees of Kurdish, Turkish, Greek, Lebanese, Armenian, and other backgrounds.
- There are currently around 20,000 kebab outlets in the UK, supporting around 200,000 jobs.
- The kebab awards categories range from Best Newcomer and Chef of the Year to Best Kebab Van and Customer Satisfaction. Additionally, there are also nine awards to celebrate the best kebab restaurants in different regions of the UK. Longlisted businesses will compete against each other, and a shortlist of 10 businesses for each category will be announced by the beginning of December 2022.
