Two eateries in same Derbyshire town shortlisted among best Greek food in UK

Two Greek eateries in the same Derbyshire town have been ranked among the best in the UK.
Odyssey Greek Restaurant, on Knifesmithgate, and The Real Greek BBQ Greek Street Food, on Chatsworth Road, have been shortlisted for the Best Greek Restaurant and/or Takeaway at the British Kebab Awards 2023.
Both venues are up against eight other restaurants, four of which are based in London with another two in Liverpool, one in Potters Bar, and the final nomination from Ellesmere. The shortlist was put together by a panel of judges who got together and were able to filter through a huge volume of entries to come to the final ten.
Takeaways across Derbyshire have had a tough couple of years especially when the pandemic struck but it appears things are starting to come back to life and the British Kebab Awards 2023 is another example of the industry returning. The big awards night will be held at the Westminster Bridge Hotel in London on February 28, 2023, with the winners being announced on the night.
Ibrahim Dogus, the founder of the British Kebab Awards and director of the recently formed Kebab Alliance, commented: “Kebab eateries are a key part of the local community and it’s great to see so many entries at the end of a year that has tested every business operating in the hospitality sector. Getting to the shortlist is a real achievement given the competition across the country and all outlets should be rightly proud. We wish all finalists the best of luck.”
